Deck Awareness

It is your responsibility as a crew-member to have good knowledge of the vessel and deck, and inspect the all-deck equipment such as ropes, winches, tackle, nets, blocks, capstan, catheads, shackles and chains before the vessel departs for the voyage. It is your responsibility to report to the captain or vessel owner equipment you believe is defective or not suitable for the voyage.
